OUCO has successfully delivered four 4t20m folding boom cranes to a customer in Iceland. These cranes are destined for installation on two crab fishing boats, where they will operate in the demanding conditions of the North Atlantic, including temperatures as low as -40°C, high seas, and specialized handling needs.
The cranes will be used for a range of critical tasks, including:
Loading live crabs into RSW tank baskets.
Unloading these baskets ashore or onto receiving vessels.
General cargo handling.
Lifting bait and supplies.

To meet the client's specific operational challenges, OUCO incorporated several custom features:
The cranes on each vessel are arranged as mirror images on the port and starboard sides.
An integrated remote control system allows one remote to operate both cranes, boosting efficiency and positioning accuracy during crabbing operations.
A square base was designed for direct welding to the deck, enhancing overall stability.
To withstand the extreme cold, each crane is equipped with an enclosed, heated cab. The equipment also meets Sea State 3 operational standards for handling rough seas.
Safety and integration were prioritized with a detachable ladder, a customized boom bracket, and a slewing turntable with a removable plate for secure stowage during transit.

This project marks OUCO's first full "crane + deck equipment" supply in Iceland. All products carry RMRS certification. Having passed factory tests, the cranes are now ready for shipment and will soon provide robust support for the client’s crab fishing activities.
